The Nokia Home Music system combines the best of FM and Internet radio, audio content stored on your home PC (or UPnP devices) and USB devices.

Unboxing of this little unit will reveal:

Nokia Home Music

AC/DC power adaptor

Remote Control (with batteries)

Etherent cable

FM antenna

User guide

Output can be sent to your Hi-Fi via either SPDIF Optical output or RCA line-out and connectivity comes in the form of Ethernet and 802.11b/g. As an added bonus you’ll get a remote control to skip tracks (where appropriate), change channels and adjust the volume.

In what seems the norm these days there are no shipping or pricing details on their website but head on over to http://europe.nokia.com/A41439726 if you’d like more info.

Microsoft have seen the light and allowed their latest Zune music player to sync wirelessly with your PC so that sorts that bit out. Now we’re still stuck with corded earphones when it comes to listening to music. Until now that is …

Etymotic have come out with their ety8 wireless earphones that make use of Bluetooth to offer you truly hassle free music on the go. Available packages include an iPod and standard edition allow you to have wireless music on the go with any device out there. The iPod system includes the a wireless transmitter addon that clips into the expansion for on supported iPods (such as the Nano 1st/2nd generation). Once connected you’ll about between 6 to 9 hours of battery life and a standard bluetooth range limit of 10m.

If you’re interested in this item then take a look at the ety8 homepage for more information. UK customers head on over to the Apple Store to grab one for £199.95

Logitech is already on their second iteration of their wireless bluetooth headphones.

The bluetooth headphone will be reborn as the FreePulse and features Bluetooth 2.0 technology which should result in better audio quality thanks to the use of Enhanced Data Rate (EDR). Connection to your iPod/HiFi is via a 3.5mm earphone connection so could even work with some of the mobile phones out there.

The FreePulse weights 60g and will provide you with 6 hours of usage and will retail for £70 / $99 later this month
Unfortunately from constant use (and in some cases bad design!) they do tend to wear down. Restore your iPod’s plastic to “just like new” by using iDrops.

A few iDrops is all it takes to bring new levels of clarity and shine to your iPod! Apply and rub – simple. Fear not those of us who are iPod-less as you can use this on your iBook, eMac and iMac G5 too.

ThinkOutside are most famous for their Stowaway portable keyboard systems but are starting to branch out into other avenues now. One of their latest products is the portable speaker system known as the Boomtube H2O1.

Up until recently your iPod was nothing more than a glorified personal music player – not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just that music was meant to be shared. ThinkOutside, along with Apple, are discovering that there is an untapped market of consumers who want their iPod (or similar mp3 player) to be the heart and soul of the party. And why not? It’s got all the styles and now it’s got the voice to match.

The Stowaway Boomtube H201 portable music player provides you with more than 40 watts of playback power. These speakers are just as portable as your iPod and have 5 hours of battery time to last just as long as well.Â

Included in the kit are 2 satellite speakers and a powerful subwoofer with the satellite speakers being connected to the base system by a meter of speaker wire. Connection to your music player is simply a matter of connecting the 3.5mm stereo connector. It’s nice to see ThinkOutside taking care of mobile phone users by including a 2.5 to 3.5mm converter.

Being portable means that you’re likely to drag these speakers with you on camping trips so thankfully the anodized aluminum housing resists stains and scratches. Aluminum speaker cones provide for better quality and style.

That’s about all we can say on this unit until we manage to secure a review unit. Go ahead and check out the specifications and buy online in the USA ($250) or UK (£169.99). Be sure to stop back and let us know what you think of these cute speakers!

According to their site “The designer muff, is a collaborative effort to create a unique iPod cover showcasing the efforts of young up and coming artists with a % of the proceeds going into their pockets, we currently have two designers on board”

Each side of your ipod is protected by 4 layers of material ( 2x Polar, 1x foam & the exterior fabric) which will cushion your iPod from minor blows and scratches, the mighty muffs can take a much higher drop and will actually bounce off the ground.

As soon as I get myself an iPod I’ll be getting the “Fluffy” (see image at beginning of post) PodMuff for myself! Go on and treat your iPod to one now.

Jabra is expecting to sell more than a 1 000 000 of these when they go on sale in Q3 of 2006. There are many users out there who would like to listen to their music wirelessly. The last problem we would have is that of trying to change tracks when your iPod is stuck in your bag.

Jabra is planning on coming out with a USB dongle version of this whuch would provide stereo audio via Bluetooth 2.0 and EDR. This way you will be able to stream stereo content from your laptop or desktop computer. Retail price for the USB adapter is USD34

The report also notes that Jabra reached an earlier agreement with Klipsch, maker of numerous premium speaker products, to develop Bluetooth wireless speakers. Such speakers could offer up to 33 feet (10 meters) of distance from the transmitter and support home theater-quality sound.

Need the CD player, radio, etc) are in luck thanks to the Sony NAS-D5HD system.

The Sony NAS-D5HD Hi-Fi features a 40GB hard disk drive capable of recording from CD, FM Tuner and the line-in so you can get great copies of songs on the radio. But aside from that, as it was surely not it’s intended purpose, you can also connect it up to an ethernet network or a USB mass-storage device. Once connected to either system you will be able to transfer and play mp3 files without hassle.
