The Isle of Man has received the first commercial HSDPA network in Europe allowing islanders to download at speeds of up to 1.4Mbps. But that is of course just the start as the network is upgradeable and as such they could be seeing speeds of 10Mbps by 2008!

Access to the network is restricted to data cards, developed by Sierra Wireless, only as no “Super 3G” phones are currently available. Alternative devices should be available early next year. Pricing for 100MB starts at GBP40.

Unnamed laptop vendors are rumored to be developing machines with built-in HSDPA data cards.
